We find the opposite
Our top deck cabin is considerably cooler since we installed panels on it as the sun no longer beats down on the cabin roof.

Re: Help us settle the Air Conditioner debate

Airflow between the panels and mounting surface has many benefits

Re: Help us settle the Air Conditioner debate

Just have to note: a thread started in mid-2017 and still going strong.

Apparently the debate hasn’t been settled.

Same here. Huge reduction in heat coming through the cabin top now where the panels are.

There is an air gap between panels and roof so the panels act just as shading.

Don't use stick on panels if you want to stay cool. Use the full frame ones that mount on feet an inch or 2 above the roof.

Similar idea used on Land Rovers sold to Africa in the 1960 and 70s.
