If that thing doesn't have a similar system it could topple over if one of the legs has a punch through.

Indeed, and he spuds only have a ram stroke of 18 feet. Not much elevation, in not much water - as Newhaul noted, perhaps ok for "a shallow shore on a lake".

Well then, much better .
This would be an awesome base of operations for the next Water World movie. Put a few floating docks off the sides and it would be perfect .

They are exponentially increasing at certain stages. Whether the entire function is considered to be such depends on the totality of the curve. This is the problem with these kinds of analysis; you can cherry pick whatever part of the curve proves your particular point.
The fact is, all credible sources state the rate of sea level rise is increasing.

Yup. Get away from the hordes. Find a place with small, self-reliant population that has decent local resources.
… then kiss your sweet @ss goodbye .

Re: Global catastrophe / SHTF "survivable locations"
I love SHTF scenarios. Here is one:
SHTF, prepper bugs out to South Pacific island on his prepped boat. Arrives somewhere nice intact (meaning it was some form of not global weather affecting SHTF). Anchor down in the lagoon, meet the locals:
Hi y'all, me prepper, come to live here. Blong oink churn wrum tong. Hey people, me prepper, I bring skills to this community. Wrum toak blejk frim. Yo people, can't you speak english like normal people? Ahnglish tok wrk. Parlevous francais? Prepper has rudimentary school french. Oui, oui, me prepper, live here. Ah, live here where? I need land, I know how to farm, repair anything, blacksmith, etc. Land communal property. Chiefs decision. Whaaaat? communism and totalitarian society? We religious, you need to be in church every day. Chief wants boat, everything you have, install solar panels on church, and work for priest. Me prepper, have guns you stupid people, now give me food and listen to rules. Democracy, constitution, freedom of religion. Wronk hum bas dluth. Prepper dies from poisoned food.

Rumpie,
Imagining what does not work is easy. Figuring out what does work, not so much.
For me it’s more like..
“Hey Cuz, how ya making out? You need a ride across the Bay?”

Look, there are only two kinds of SHTF scenarios and only few responses to it.
1. Local SHTF. This we now very well how it plays out, it happens regularly in some part of the world. Just watch the news. Responses:
a) you flee to some part of the world where SHTF did not happen. Now you are a refugee and subject to whatever rules that society has for you. You are not entitled to anything, less of all your guns and your homecountries freedoms. Just make sure you go to a place that has a "refugees welcome" banner, not the place that puts you in a camp.
b) you stay put and ride it out. After the worst chaos is over you find some likeminded people and start rebuilding society.
2. Global SHTF. This has yet to happen. There is no place to run to, it's just as bad everywhere. If you survive the initial event you are in scenario 1.b. If some places are hit less and you hear about it and go there you are in scenario 1.a.

There was one guy, back in the eighties, who was concerned about nuclear war, and was aware of the language problem.
So he decided to move to the Falklands, where he'd be safe.

We looked into that about five years ago. Island living isn't for everyone, but working with sheep is more enjoyable than working with humans. The current state of affairs for entry to FK is stringent - if you want to stay beyond your tourist visa. There are currently 47 nationalities on the three islands and the waiting list is endless. If you're from the UK you get priority.
Only two flights weekly bring the groceries, Brit military and the tourists.

Yeah, because the safest place to move to in case of nuclear war is one of the major players naval resuply bases, wich also happens to be disputed by the nearest regional power. How stupid does one have to be for that?
