Re FL to ABC's.
Ive sailed FL-Bahamas-W Carib via Windward
Passage, but not as far east as the ABC's. Obviously, thats going to be more of a bash to windward in prevailing winds.
Ive sailed to the ABCs from the E Carib...couldnt be easier...off the
wind Trade Winds sailing all the way. Getting to the E Carib from FL is tedious, but it is a road well travelled.
Panama is a way easier sail from FL and also effectively out of the
hurricane zone.
It just depends on who opens up when. My conjecture is that border openings will happen later rather that sooner in the W Carib as cruisers are not financially relevant in most of the W Carib (with a few local exceptions). So why should gov's take the risk.
