Sven is doing something I always thought of: sailing to the center of an ocean High and spending some time there. I am most impressed.

79 days at sea, 3500 miles ....


He needs help of other people to walk now.


He did not say anything about shower though ... ;-)

Never would want to go anywhere in one of his boats - but I SO admire his tenacity, resourcefulness ingenuity and optimism.

Glad he's in a bit of a sheltered spot for now... bad weather coming, Yrvind!

Yann is now half way into his attempted round the world. Right now somewhere between Raiatea and Noumea. We do not know where exactly as he has a Spot tracker. ;-(


Different boat concept, different ocean BUT at only 4 meter LOA I think him and Sven are showing things can be done. All it takes is a dream and a 'do it' attitude.

What a wonderful sailor, builder, philosopher and writer.

Happy to see Sven is still getting around with his original 50+ years dream. Something we should all learn from and even more important - teach our children with.

Yes. The consistency with which he churns out designs that refuse to sail ... ;-)


But the spirit, eh, he does have the spirit, and the guts!


The other guy, Yann Quenet is like Sven in many ways, just half a century younger.


I love what they are doing. I would not do it myself but I think Sven, Yann and many other sailors show that sailing, world sailing, is easily within our reach.
