AutoProp 3 Blade RH feathering Prop
I have for sale a used AutoProp from 2000.
It is in great condition, painted, prepped and ready to be installed.
The prop diameter is 470mm, or 18"
Number printed on prop is AP2708RH
Manufacturer states their unique id is 86470BB, or similar to the H6.
Ball bearings are water lubricated.
She has served us very well, almost no prop walk and gave us an extra knot under sail.
Comes with a spare zinc anode we had laying around.
Asking $2250 or best offer!

Re: AutoProp 3 Blade RH feathering Prop
Somebody might be interested in the shaft diameter this beast fits on.

Re: AutoProp 3 Blade RH feathering Prop
Not sure what that is. Like another user mentioned, could be zinc anit barnacle paint.
I believe the shaft diameter is 1.25", but don't quote me on that!
Let me measure it for sure this evening.

Re: AutoProp 3 Blade RH feathering Prop
Ah, interesting. So this will not fit most boats, or what?

It will fit on boats with a 35mm shaft. Which rules out most boats, yes.

Re: AutoProp 3 Blade RH feathering Prop
Is it realistic to have a sleave made for a shaft, to allow a larger diameter-fitted prop to work? Has anyone ever done that, or just better to get the right size.
I suppose it would partly depend on the difference between the sizes - if too small, not enough material to be able to firmly fit it?

Prop manufacturers do sell sleeves to upsize (for instance) a 1 1/8" shaft to fit a 1 1/4" bore prop. I have never seen it done to allow a metric bore prop fit on an SAE shaft however.

Re: AutoProp 3 Blade RH feathering Prop
If i do the math right a 1.25" shaft is 31.75 mm?
If so since it is a tapered shaft, I'd like to see it put on a 1.25" shaft, of course it would sit further on the shaft, but it may work with a washer or something to allow the nut to tighten it.
I am NOT saying it would work, all I'm saying is I'd like to see it tried, just to see.
Is the shaft taper the same?

The barrel nut used to secure the Autoprop will have a metric thread, so it will not be useable on an SAE shaft in any case.

Re: AutoProp 3 Blade RH feathering Prop
If it fits a Beneteau I believe you find the shaft size is 30mm and the taper differs from SAE.
It is a good prop as I had one in past however it is not practical to alter it to fit a SAE shaft. Contact Brunton Props to get a price on changing the hub size.
