I report with sorrow and with condolences to his wife Betty that Ted Brewer is no longer with us.

A true giant in the world of yacht design. Perhaps the most seaworthy boat design (not necessarily its implementation) ever penned was his 43ft double ended pilothouse. If I was going to go hardcore, no oceans barred, sailing, then one of those in steel or aluminum (with a more exaggerated brewer bite) would be my choice even today nigh on 50 years after he penned it. That’s how good he was. He will be sorely missed, particularly as there a few of his caliber in the industry today IMHO.

I talked to Ted twice on the phone over the last three years. Ted and Betty were always ready to help boat owners and boat buyers. May he rest in peace FW&FS

I know closing down the Steel mills cleaned up the water and air but it sure did unemploy a pile of people.
