Lightbulb Software upgrades, new features and more...

As you can see we have had a major upgrade!

Right now I am focused on working out bugs. Later I will come back and post details about all the changes and feature enhancements that our community has received.

Please post any weird bugs and software issues here so that I can address them. I would expect it to take a few weeks to work all the kinks out of this system but on the positive side, we will have the foundation in place to sail us across the next blue ocean!

Here is a list of known issues:
  • Photo Gallery not working
  • List of smilies needs to be reorganized for better layout with large smiles put under the "more" link...

The new “look” will take some getting used to. As a ‘puter idiot, it may take me a little time to get back on track.

Lost in Space ...

I posted a message & (8) photo's at about 5:30 EST (Z-5), at which time they "Uploaded Successfully”, and I was able to view them in the Photo Gallery. I also posted a message, linking to them. The links worked. Shortly after, I posted another message (cannot remember anything about it).
All above seems to have vanished into the ether.

Did I get caught in the void, while you uploaded the new software, or is it likely to reappear with the Photo Gallery?

Gord,

It is possible that you got caught in the void. The forum software is turned off on the other server but I forgot to turn the photo gallery software off. I am going to work on upgrading the photo gallery now, so look for an announcement about that being up and running again shortly. Then it would be great if you could post those 8 photos again and help test the upgraded system....

The forum upgrade actually presented lots of issues but I was able to get past them all one way or another (I have done LOTS of upgrades over the last 4 years). Today I have been trying to get the photo gallery converted over to a different system that works better with the integration and cookies but have run into nothing but road blocks.

I have submitted a support request with the publisher of the software and hopefully I can figure out this import (from PhotoPost to vBGallery). I will keep you posted and get the photo gallery back up ASAP.

Best regards,

Andy R

I like it, I like it, I like it At first I was very apprehensive, but after about my second post, this is great! Much easier to use. I had to go in and fine tune my profile, as some settings changed, but that is it.
Kudos Andy

There use to be a couple lines (buttons) at the top of the "Discussion Board" page that stated something like "Most Recent Posts" & "Posts in Past 24 Hours".

Will they come back or am I missing them somewhere????

Oh Boy! a spell checker! But how does it work? All it does is hi-lite..............................._/)

There are a few things that I still find questionable.

But the only thing is that once the bugs are out. Then I'll say "I like it"?

Right now "I don't like it"!!

It's all screwed up!! And I have been tinkering with my damn profile. Trying to get the doggone thing to stop sending me fuc!ing emails. Everytime somebody answers a post that I have been posting on!!

Cap'n K,
Below the reply box, goto the advance reply and click. And at the bottom of the page there is a notification pull down tab. You can adjust it there..................._/)

Delmarrey, go to the "quicklinks" tab at the top and select "today's posts" It took me a few tries to find it as well.
K, between my info and Delmarrey's I hope you fixed the issue. It was a bit annoying.

I think I like it. Yeah, I like it. Normally I would be all in a tither with a new layout. Kinda like cptK is at the mo. But I have found most things easily. Just a little patience. Only thing I don't like is the clicking on the "go to the Forum" thingy and have it open in a new window, leaving the first page in the background, but I'll get around that.
I have for the first time my Email notification working. It never did before. I love the "new posts" part. And Folks, look at the cool.......wait.....holy cow batman, we have a flamin SPEWLL CHEKKA!!!!!!!Woooohooooo!!!
