Upgrading a Bavaria 46C

Hi,

I have a Bavaria 46C 2004 and I am working in some some upgrades:

- installing a watermaker
- installing a ar conditioning for the mais saloon
- new refrigerator
- new service batteries

First question I have: May I use the same sea water inlet for the watermaker and A/C?

Also, can someone share her/his thoughts about Lifepo4 batteries? Currently I have 3x140ah conventional batteries...

Re: Upgrading a Bavaria 46C

I use one seacock for all my seawater needs. That's a safety issue in my mind, although it results in longer hose runs. The relevant question is whether that seacock supplies enough water for both. The very likely answer is yes, it can do so without sucking the feed hose into the pump.

Re: Upgrading a Bavaria 46C

Don't plan on running the AC and watermaker off the same thru hull at the same time.

Drop in LifePO4 batteries are a good upgrade, but make sure the maximum charge and discharge currents are high enough for your systems.
