Yes, it would only have been possible to do inexpensively somewhere water is piped to the docks. Glad you got a chuckle out of it. Was necessary because it was MY berth involved, and I really wanted the salt water GONE, and I stuck the plug end of the dinghy where I could still reach it. Minor details like that, because no way could I tip out the water, had to let it drain.

Re: Salvaged Cat - Dank smell

Buy a couple hundred incense cones off E-bay. Place them all in a steel pan on a couple of bricks in the center of the cabin. Ignite the whole bunch with a propane torch, exit the boat. Close up all the hatches and vents and leave it for a few days.

You would not believe the amount of foul odor that this will cover up in an old car or boat. I've even done this in old houses.

Choose your scent wisely. I personally prefer patchouli or jasmine for this purpose. Frankincense and myrrh is also a favorite.

Just be careful as this can damage your window sealants.

Yes it can ... if you seal up the boat, turn it on and leave it for a couple of months.

My first wife had no immune system. We simply could not allow mold onboard. Even tho' we'd never seen mold on our boat we ran an ozone generator once a week for an hour for years and did no damage. MY wife eventually passed due to a tooth infection from some dental work.

PS. Leave the boat while it's running.
