Mariner Regal Thermocouple

Anybody know where I can order a replacement thermocouple for my Mariner Regal propane stove?
One of my 3 burners refuses to stay lit, the diagnosis seems to be needs a thermocouple but apparently Mariner Regal out of business.
Stove is 25 years old, I believe.

Re: Mariner Regal Thermocouple

Greetings and welcome aboard the CF, sjg.

According to Go2 Marine: "That stove was made in New Zealand, and, sorry to say, no other manufacturer is making replacement parts for it."

Re: Mariner Regal Thermocouple

The Mariner Regal probably used generic OEM thermocouples (ie: Robertshaw).

Re: Mariner Regal Thermocouple

I believe a company by the name of "Stainless Fittings" in Auckland, New Zealand was the original manufacturers of the Mariner cookers. They still rebuild and refurbish them. Not sure if they will sell just the parts. It's worth a shot, though.

If anyone has a Mariner Regal cooker they'd like to part out, please let us know.

Thanks!

Similar thermocouples are probably used in many other appliances and are a very common replaced part in stoves and heaters. With the old one in hand, you could try a home store or a heating business. Ebay or Amazon, too.

Re: Mariner Regal Thermocouple

We've been passively looking for this part for a few years now. These cookers were built in New Zealand back in the day and are pushing 30 years old now. (For those that need one, the original Mariner Regal Cooker Manual is online under the Yahoo group "Norseman 400.") The Mariner Regal cooker we have is original to our Norseman 400 and still works flawlessly - except the back burner (of a three burner stove, broiler and oven) and won't stay lit. All the burner needs is a new thermocouple unit. Looks like the connection got too hot and a wire melted. From what we've experienced, these cookers hold up amazingly well - obviously built for the marine environment. We'll have it rebuilt when (if) we get to NZ, but until then, we would like to get this project off the back burner. haha
