Lewmar portlight sealing

Hi, I have removed my leaking portlight (non opening one in saloon). I've noticed it was sealed with this shty foam seal, I want to make it properly done, thus I need your advice, will Sika 291i alone do the work, or should I add some additional seal?

That'll work, but bedding with butyl tape is popular on the forum and not so messy. If you want to go that route, here's some white 1/8" tape on Amazon:

If think you will ever want to easily remove the window and the window is nowhere near the water line then butyl tape is a great solution. I’ve used it successfully on various fittings.

One thing I love about the tape is if the seal isn’t quite tight enough you can always nip it up further. The other is removal of the part is a dream.

I was reading about butyl tape, and as you mentioned if the portlight would not be close to waterline I would consider it, but in that case I have like maybe 50cm to water level so I wouldn't risk it. Btw does anybody knows what is that sponge seal? It looks like original but I can't imagine why Bavaria would use this kind of things half meter above waterline ...
PS. Another leak found today...
