Need a Lewmar Portlight Expert

(mouseover with your cursor to see the pic descriptions.) I’m hoping to reach someone knowledgeable about these Lewmar Portlights to help me figure out what I am doing wrong. With my boat celebrating a 10 year anniversary and one of the gaskets coming unglued, I decided to replace all the gaskets with new ones. I figured that since one came undone, the others are sure to follow. The Lewmar Hatch/Portlight guy at the boat show">Annapolis boat show recommended I go online to find spare parts. I was hoping that I could look this up by boat make and model, but it was not that simple. I needed to go through the various sizes and determined that the 7RE was the closest fit. To be sure, I ordered (1) 7RE flyscreen since I needed new screens anyway. The 7RE flyscreen was a perfect fit (which by the way, are vastly superior to the original gray ones that never really fit well.) So, I assumed I have a 7RE Portlight and ordered a replacement gasket for a 7RE Portlight. Painstakingly, I was able to remove all of the original sealant in the interlocking groove. I can dry fit the new gasket, but not shaped like the original one. I get interference at the hinges that cause the gasket to distort and come out of the groove. Also, the latches will not close without gorilla force. I’m thinking this is the wrong gasket, but I cannot confirm this. I put in inquiry into Lewmar a couple a weeks ago, but have not heard anything back. I was hoping to have this done for this Holiday weekend. I would like to rule out whether I'm doing something wrong. For instance, I do not see any vent holes like the instructions state. Am I supposed to poke a hole in these? Any ideas??? Many thanks in advance.
