DIY boatyard San Diego?

Considering a sailboat purchase in San Diego. Don’t want to move it before doing work on it.

Can anyone say if there are yards there that allow you to:

1. Work on your own boat (systems, not bottom work).
2. Live in the boat whilst doing so.

It may also be possible to sail the boat up to LA. Any yards there? Oceanside?

Thank you.

Ventura Boatyard - a bit north of LA but who knows how far you will need to go. I spent a month there, working on my boat and living aboard.

Driscoll Mission Bay is a DIY yard. Not sure by if you can live aboard while hauled out.

Productos Procesdos in Ensenada is a bare bones commercial yard that allows both diy and liveaboard. $1/ft/day layday. Biggest issue is you really need to bring your own parts and supplies with you. While close to downtown Ensenada, accomodations are pretty rough.
