DIY Boatyard in San Diego Area

Does anyone know of a boatyard in the San Diego area that will let you do a lot of your own work on the boat while it is on the hard?

For example, I would like to have her pulled out, so that I can take my time and do some work on thru-hulls and also maybe paint the bottom.

I am new to San Diego and would appreciate any advice on this topic.

Yards in SD are reluctant to have much work done in them by owners due to the possibilty of running afoul of California EPA laws. (Of which we have too many). Best bet is probably Kohler Kraft to do your own work.

Another idea is to take the 60 mile trip south to Baja Naval and get things done cheaper, work on it yourself, avoid the huge layday charges SD has. Only a 75 minute drive by car.

Thanks. I will check out both Kohler Kraft and Baja Naval. I appreciate the advice.
