Dhow Project Update

I finally found the cable that lets me down load the recent Dhow pictures from my way overly complicated camera….I want one with a red button and a green button.

The Dhow is done and ready to be launched...There had been some delays with the project (nothing new there) but it will be moving now.
Still waiting authorization to build a small jetty though!

I've had some problem getting a captain....the pirates have been a bit of a problem...they've come to the shores of Yemen and have been killing fishermen who resist.
I spoke to the coast guard and they said they'd give me an escort to the Red Sea, so that should be solved.

The big job was converting it's 3 smaller insulated fish holds into a single cargo hold.
This entailed whacking out larges sections of bulkheads and adding some serious stringers.
The hatch opening is just under 20 ft long and over 8ft with.
The hatch cover was a change. It needed to be handled manually...and I needed to be able to stack the pieces on board in a secure way.
I came up with what I thought was a cleaver solution...the spacers between the handles and the hatches are rounded on the top and concaved on the bottom so the sort of spoon when stacked.
I made these pieces from HD plastic.
