Yanmar 4JH3E Need to Identify A Part
I,just purchased a new used boat.It has a Yanmar 4JH3E engine.I,am trying to identify a part.Looking at the engin from the front on the lower right side attached to I,beleive the injector pump is a round looks lioke a resivour with a cap on top that screws off that is marked oil.I,would think it is a resivour for the injector pump, but I,don't know. One is it,2 how do you service it and what type of oil is used and how ndo you service it.I,have serched the nweb and can not seem to locate it,or any manual referenceing the 4JH3E engin.
Thanks for the help

Re: identify part
I'm sorry I can't help as I don't have experience with that engine but if you post another thread with the subject title Yanmar 4JH3E you might get one of our Yanmar experts to respond.
kind regards,

Re: identify part
If its what Im thinking, it should have a yellow cap and is the normal oil filler. its in front of the injector pump but has nothing to do with it.
That engine uses API grade CD ( which has been replaced by CF) and takes about 5 litres to fill full. ( doesn't need to be filled full),
heres a link to the owners manual http://www.yanmarmarine.com/theme/ya...Manual-ENG.pdf

Re: Yanmar 4JH3E Need to Identify A Part
Well this thread is several years old maybe I should start another but I'll give it a try. I'm trying to find the part number for a yanmar 4JH3E the part that's on the AFT end of the heat exchanger where the hose for the mixing elbow is connected. thanks in advance. And I clicked on the link for the manual but I can't download it, I'm trying to do with a smartphone maybe that's the problem.

Re: Yanmar 4JH3E Need to Identify A Part
Thanks for getting back to me. none of the links work for me but I think it might be because I'm using a smartphone. but I ended up calling marinedieselparts.com. Very good experience from a guy named Jim. he gave me the part number, price, and nearest dealer he even gave me their phone number, because MD could not ship it to me because of Yanmar policy to protect local dealers. By the way the price was $176. I think I'm going to have it welded.
