Universal Diesel 5411 Fuel Injector Pump no output

Managed to diagnose that fuel is entering the engine driven pump but no fuel is exiting.
Is it possible to rebuild or repair this pump (like when we change impellers on the water pump), or is this something that will require the replacement of the pump?

Also - seems like a stupid question, but since I do not normally dick around with diesel engines - just to be sure - if I turn over the engine while the injection pump is being fed fuel by the electric pump, I SHOULD see fuel exiting the injector pump, shouldn't I??
Thanks!

In the stop position, no fuel should exit the injector pump. Make sure the pump is in the run position.

Injector pumps can be rebuilt. There are specialty shops that rebuild injectors and pumps. Pumps should be rebuilt by an experienced person.

“ Make sure the pump is in the run position.”
I’m not sure what you mean by the “run position”.
It is an engine driven pump, so I assume that if I crank the engine with the starter it should engage the pump and fuel should exit the pump - correct?

9 x out of 10 the slide on the side of the pump, which controls plunger pump output, is gummed up or rusted up and not moving. Basically the pump slide is stuck in the off position. You might try removing the pump and having it cleaned.
