squeaky prop shaft

I have a squeak in my prop shaft for over a season. It creates a whirring sound at low RPMs and disappears at higher RPM. I am thinking it is my cutlass bearing but there is no play in the shaft when I try and move it. Is there another explanation I should be looking at before I go to the expense of replacing the cutlass?

Still likely to be the Cutless. How is the water supply to it? If it's in a shaft log rather than a separate frame, it may not be getting the water it needs. Water is a lousy lubricant, but does do this job.
