Re: Requests for tips to remove impeller on 4JH Yanmar

Imus, all worked out very well. The Yanmar Threaded Impeller p/n 129670-42610 fit great.
Yanmar impeller puller p/n 129671-92110 is short enough that in the future I will be able to pull the impeller with the limited access I have to work with.
I'm glad that one of the members that replied suggested the threaded impeller. I didn't know there was such a thing. I'm guessing that is why Yanmar designed their engine the way they did. It forces you to buy their proprietary products. LOL

Hmmm, we have a Sceptre 41 (essentially the same boat) with good access to all sides of engine (front and back too). OK, a foot further forward on water pump/impeller side would be nice....

The problem is the rear-facing water pump.

Good luck!

129470-42532 doesn't have any threads that you can use the Yanmar tool with
Just to update:
June 2023: I just purchased a new Yanmar impeller kit (NOT old stock!) and it contains impeller WITH threads.

(As Post #26 correctly indicates.)

Kit is almost double the price of impeller alone from last year....

Re: Requests for tips to remove impeller on 4JH Yanmar

Glad you sorted the problem.

Especially with the 4jh4-te it is worth installing the threaded impeller even if the access is resonable.
