Recommended Outboard HP for 36'/8K displacement?
Hi All,

Just joined and would put myself in the beginner category so apologies if my question is lacking info needed to respond.

Building a 36' foot Aluminium mono-hull (8K displacement) and wonder what the recommended horsepower would be for an emergency outboard to be used as backup?

Also, if there is any make/models to stay away from, or that is recommended due to good quality then grateful for that info as well
