New Diesel Outboard

Ran across this:

OXE - DIESEL OUTBOARD

Looks like a very mean piece of equipment. Not for us -- not for recreational use, and I'm sure it costs a fortune.

Unusual design in many respects -- belt drive instead of bevel gears, electronic steering, etc., etc.

It's an ultra high specific output turbocharged and intercooled engine, 200 hp out of 2 000cc displacement. Fresh water cooled. Looks like a car engine.

Made in Sweden.

Very cool. I wonder if any of this will ever trickle down to us?

Looks like both this and the Oxe are primarily aimed at the military market. The US Navy apparently does not want gasoline on board their ships any more.
