Hose routing

I had the yard replace some of the hoses on my boat. I'm not sure about the way the hose from the seawater strainer to the seacock is routed.

The strainer is above and to the right of the seacock. I would think you could go directly between the two. What the yard did was route the hose down and behind the large hose, then up along the other large hose - and very close to the shaft - then finally to the seacock.

Is there a reason for putting this big sag into the hose?

Any chance you could try reposting that photo? I can't see it with either IE or Chrome.

Re: Hose routing

Maybe they were trying to be neat or sell more hose.

Re: Hose routing

Without seeing the hose this is pure speculation on my part but I often find I end up with a bit of a loop to prevent unwanted forces on fittings.

Re: Hose routing

Here is the photo again - one of my concerns is that the hoses by the shaft are very close - maybe 1/8" gap. I'm thinking of putting a plastic guard between the hoses and the shaft
