I don’t know about Volvo but Yanmar engine/Saildrive units do need to be adjusted. The engine needs to be horizontal both longitudinally and transversely and the only point of adjustment is the front engine mounts. The front mounts shouldn’t be adjusted up to the very end of the thread, far better to install a spacer under the mount. Yanmar don’t like it if we install their engines with any forward down angle and with a Saildrive this is more important because the flywheel housing can sit on the centre bolt of the group that secure the diaphragm plate and can cause a noise and vibration. The diaphragm seems to accept mis alignment quite well so it’s not critical to get the engine settled perfectly on the mounts, just good engineering.

There are no alignment adjustments to be made with the VP D1/ 130 saildrive packages.

Just make sure there are no stresses imparted into the rubber mounts when the fasteners are tightened.
