First things first, all the usual stuff about laminate integrity,
engine,
wiring quality, rig condition, etc. applies to an
F-27 just as much as to any other
used boat. So I take it you're looking for issues specific to the Farrier/Corsair trimarans, that wouldn't be a concern on other boats. The big issue, I'd say, is the added structural complications of a folding
trimaran. Farrier's engineering skill was remarkable, but some older boats may have been abused and I have heard rumours of some where the folding linkage might not have been built as well as Ian intended. A
marine surveyor familiar with these boats should be able to recognize the tell-tale signs of abuse or over-stressing having damaged the crossbeams, linkage, or attachment points.
