Re: Victorian Boat License

There are limited new deep water moorings in the area of Yaringa to Warneet. Tides can be an issue if you want to go somewhere limiting you to a 4-5 hour departure window and of course this will affect your arrival. These are moorings operated by Parks Victoria. If you are seriously thinking about it, don't delay, they are hot property at the moment.

A mate with a 40 ft mono sometimes travels from Yaringa to Docklands - it's about a 12 hour trip in total. You can quickly forget how far that trip is!

Re: Victorian Boat License

I was in the process of building a 40 steel cat, I went all round Westernport and parks Victoria has made it a greenie zone and have closed or are closing boat facilities there,
Warneet have to move some time, and there is another one there that has to move as well.
Yaringa was out for my steel cat as it is 8 metres wide and I would not narrow it, Yaringa channel is 8 metres wide, I have physically measured it.

Yaringa is $102 per week, Wet Berth, Quarterly fee schedule, free parking and close by.
Yaringa is better just for convenience.

RMYC is $96 per week, Swing mooring, parking is $4-50 per hour, If the road is not closed and you can get a park, then you have to walk a mile,

Still waiting on Hastings Marina to reply,

Will look into Parks Victoria moorings,

You still have to walk with all your gear way out to the end of the peir and then Tender across to your boat,

After you do that a couple of times, Yaringa is the go,
