In East Sussex U.K. on the A22... you enter first: Upper Dicker, then Middle Dicker, then Lower Dicker.

I dont think being any one of them appeals........

Damned if you are not right about that. Even worse! You would have to be tough to live that place of origin down in some communities.

And anyone who rides a motorcycle in this part of the world knows Moobal. And the associated Burringbar Range road. Bliss on any bike but particularly nice on a Ducati 916 and a GSXR750.

We got more stange names in this part of the world than you can throw a boomerang at. I often anchor at Coochiemudlo Island for example

Re: Renamed our boat

They have a small motorcycle museum and cafe in Mooball now Factor. We rode past the other day and popped in. Quite interesting. The ranges are more fun now that the bypass takes most of the traffic away from them.

Will try and find the pic that we took of the giant bike out the front of it.

Yep. And some of the buildings As I said, if my lady still has the pic in her files I will post it. If not, it is an excuse for another ride.

Found it, or rather, she did. Neither of those two bikes are mine.

Re: Renamed our boat

The name of the family boat, purchased by my parents in 1962, is "Evadne". It was my mother's name. Her mother saw the name in a book and liked it. turns out, it is the name of the daughter of Poseidon. We didn't know that when we named her.

The current project (see my avatar) was named "Surazo" when she was christened in 1947. She was built in Valparaiso, Chili, and was named after a local wind (southerly) that sweeps from the antarctic, as best as I have determined. I see no reason to change the name so have no need to find the virgin.

I have known cat rigged boats with "cat" type names. What would we call a cat rigged catamaran? Here, Kitty Kitty?

Kitty Kitty

This thread hadn't interested me much but dang, you made my day. I had a good chuckle on Kitty Kitty. Now I have to find a way to use that, but I won't be buying a Cat Cat.

Re: Renamed our boat

If you had a catamaran dinghy, "kitty, kitty" isn't a bad dinghy name!

Re: Renamed our boat

Those outboards, are they on some kind of hydraulic lift or something? I assume they are the propulsive power for the boat? How big a Cat is that, weight? How well do the outboards work?

Re: Renamed our boat

It's a Kurt Hughes 43, designed weight about 8000 lbs. displacement about 17,500. The outboards are for propulsion and they are raised and lowered with electric winches. Not sure how well the outboards work as the seller backed out of the contract before we could get to a sea trial.
