Re: Modernizing a Prout Elite 37ft
I'll take 4 of them.
Careful not to get to much epoxy on the key board!

do you want a removable fin as well on them,so they can be used as a body board,as well as a cockpit table, and door
the epoxy is normally gone by the time i have finished cooking dinner

Can it do duty as a passerrelle as well? Diving board? Plank to make your victims walk?

it could quite possibly double up as an emergency rudder attached to the steerable sillete drive leg
i have stopped calling my crew "victims",as i have found that it effects their morale when they realise 3 days into an ocean crossing that we don't anchor every night, and it will be another 15 days till they have internet......or can get off......though their is always the the door that floats.............

Re: Modernizing a Prout Elite 37ft
been doing a lot of itchy, and sticky over the last few weeks,so too tired to post on the forum.......
finished the door and frame, but will only fit it once the interiour is finished.
molded and laminated up a cover for the cockpit to cover the fuel tank.
have now started on the water tanks in the hulls, baffles and bulkheads fabricated from nidacore panels, then epoxyed in place.
been thinking a lot about the rebel heart debarcle, and the loss of blue pearl, and how easy it would be to make this catamaran even more unsinkable by adding polystyrene blocks inside the 4 watertight compartments...........

Big job. Motoring ahead. Takes a lot of focus. We know where you are if we need you

i finished grinding out the water tanks, and now both are epoxy coated inside, with the baffels and end bulkheads in place, ready to be glued and sealed to the tank tops.
the tank tops which are both 12 ft long assembled, are fabricated from a glass/6mm ply/glass sandwich, epoxy coated on the underside.
the tank top ply is totally encapsulated in glass with either side beveled off to follow the curve of the hull, which will give a uniform 2cm epoxy glue joint all the way around, before having a further 10cm taped epoxy laminate over the join area.
tank tops have all inspection hatches, fillers, vents and outlet fittings fitted.
i think i have used about 7kgs of west epoxy, and 12 kg of polyester resin so far, together with 1 1/2 sheets of ply,1/3 sheet of nidacore,7 kg glass cloth and tape .
camera died but i will try post some photos in the next day or so
