Deck sole

I have a short question, arised as a result of my limited English language knowledge, at least when it comes to marine specifics.
Can you explain to me the meaning of the boat's "deck sole". Question asked because on an ad I read about a cat I am interested in, one of the informations was that it "needs new deck sole".
Please help me to understand this.

I have always considered the deck to be the structure you walk on, on the exterior of the boat but not counting the top of cabins.
Sole for me means the surface you walk on while inside the boat.

"Deck sole" seems an odd term, but my guess is its referring to the surface of the deck.

I know of one particular major make of cat on which the anti-slip surface wears out very quickly. Maybe that is what they are talking about.
