Was that some sort of arcane metaphor for Boaty's 'journey', Ann ?

- - - -

(I used to mutter unkind thoughts under my breath to my
English teachers, who would ask inane questions such as:

"Exactly what is the poet trying to SAY here, TROUP?":

"Well .... If he would just bloody well SAY it instead of all that
precious faffing around, we could get on and talk about
something interesting, and preferably knowable, SIR"

Teenage boys are such friggin' pragmatists.
Some of us never grew out of it ...

(I think this transcends thread drift:

this is epic, nay, Continental drift !

If you get my drift ...)

Re: Atlantic Delivery

Update on the weather here:

Friend's sunroom blew over his roof, all his front windows succumbed to the wind as well. Boats not tied down blowing away.

Now coastal houses a few km to the other side of me (which sank along with the surrounding territory in some earthquakes a while back, most not yet fixed), are at risk of being washed by the sea, due to storm surge and high seas removing the high, substantial protective dunes which have been there all my life...

In the stronger gusts, I can't turn the radio up enough to make out what they're saying, without it distorting to incomprehension.

Time for bed, should start clearing by morning...

Oh yeah, Go, Boaty!
Anywhere but here ...

Re: Atlantic Delivery

Back to the journey....

His latest SPOT fix has him essentially half way (well, in the next hour or so).
1845 behind, 1860 to go.
Another 175NM day, after another, after another....
For a white boy, he sure has rhythm.

Re: Atlantic Delivery

This thread illustrates the actual positive influence of Boatman. Since he has been offline/doing his job, CFrs have ocilated between abusing rum and abusing the English language. Some have apparently sunk to bathing with chimps. If Boatman doesn't make landfall soon I shudder to think what will happen on this thread......just sayin.

Re: Atlantic Delivery

Boaty is still riding the rail. He is at the half way mark.

He may have one engine on at low RPM's at all times to keep all the toys running and to keep that nice straight course.
