2019 Nautitech 40 OPEN

Looking for insight (from personal experience) of the 2019 Nautitech 40 Open, please. Have read past threads about older models. Would also take input on the fly version, but we are more seriously considering the open version. Cheers!

Uh, unless I’ve been sleeping, there is no fly bridge version of the N40, only the N46.

As for the 40, she’s lovely, very pricey for a 40, and the unprotected helm stations turn off many blue water sailors and live aboards.

Regards,

You’re totally right about no fly on the 40. My fault.

Do your homework regarding keels. Be okay with what you find

Re: 2019 Nautitech 40 OPEN

I have a 46 fly but also sailed 40 open. That's a great boat and sail better than FP or Lagoon. I don't know the price elsewhere but here it cost parity to same size Lagoon and a bit cheaper than FP.
Exposed helm station is not a problem for me and I enjoy it on my Catana. I never understood why so many people hate it but this is a long discussion..
My wife found the kitchen not very practical with unsufficient working area.
In term of finish, they are probably a bit better than Lagoons , a bit worse than FP's.

Cheers

Merhaba Yelova,

I know this is an old threat but as we have Open 40 on our short list for our next boat I have a question. I know you have been on many catamarans on the Med do you think a FP suits sailing in the Med and Aegean better? and which one would you pick as an overall quality boat regardless of better sailing ability of the 40?

I haven't sail the recent models of FP, Soana, Lucia or Elba. They seem to be slightly better build vs. previous models with more attention to details. I don't think they are saling better than previous models though..The market request is more towards volume and comfort rather than sailing abilities, particularly in charter segment which is huge..We also know that that the brands geared towards performance such as Outremer, Catana, etc are still selling small numbers.
I believe Nauthitec is staying somewhere in between.

Cheers
