At the top in the middle of the window next to "the hour, you have the 3 letters UTC click on the black arrow next to it, it will turn red and offer you the choice of the day and time of the desired weather forecast

Yes, the official Vendee site can do it, but Windy is a more user friendly implementation if you want to combine the boat tracks and a more detailed study of the weather.

For example, you can also swap to the various Wave layers in Windy to view the sea conditions - the leaders will encounter 2.3m Northerly waves soon.

NB: remember that the various layers in Windy are Forecast conditions.

There will be updates coming soon for the Regadata plugin for Windy, and it will probably be added to the official plugin list too, making loading a bit simpler.

To be honest, I use both the Vendee site and Windy

Re: Vendee 2020

To live with the Vendée Globe regatta, you have to use three applications: the official cartography, Windy and a weather routing software.

Don't forget the ability of Windy to display of wind and temperature readings from airports and certain merchant vessels.

First demasting and the end for Corum... too bad for such a promising challenger.
The Boss continues to increase the distances to 2nd JLC. At first glance he may be lucky not to suffer too much from the doldrums...

Bad news for Nicolas (Corum) Before dismounting he had a sudden stop of 25 knots to 0.

Today Alex Thomson seems very tired, Thomas (Linkedout) and Charlie (Apivia) are going faster than Alex, the distance between Alex and the 2 other foiling boats decreases.

Jean Le Cam will continue straight ahead staying in the east. Alex, Thomas and Charlie should go West to get more wind to be able to use the foils.

The speed difference between the foil boats and the skidding boats seems to be around 2 knots.

the race is in its early stages, we will see what happens in the coming weeks

Francis

Alex had ~zero sleep through the first four days. I imagine he's trading miles for rest right now given how sleep-deprived he is and the current (amazing) weather.

I also wonder how much he's struggling with being in the lead. He's been here before and lost the lead fairly dramatically.

It's shaping up to be a great race!

Re: Vendee 2020

it's a quandary....

is it better to be in 1st place and be constantly looking over your shoulder....

or be in 2nd place and playing catch up...

Alex has about a 100 nm lead right now...after a week....time for a good rest....though I doubt he will....he is clearly on a mission...but he has couple of months to go yet..that's a lo-o-o-o-o-o-n-n-n-n-g time...

Ooooh good question! When I’m out on the bike I prefer being second as the chase is a fantastic motivator, but then at some point you’ve gotta take the lead...
