Certainly not worthless, the boat is beautiful and of good design and construction, worth it for someone willing to take on more of a project than I am, and can/will be a beautiful and well-sailing vessel.
I understand, they are beautiful boats!
If a boat has been neglected in Florida, in the water, it is a different proposition to one neglected in a barn in the north.

I met a guy who found a wooden 1929 boat in a barn in Ontario. He restored her and eventually sold her to be transported to Ireland, I think.

He is a gifted ship's carpenter, though.

A lot of exterior teak, large "windows" and older-style anchors but it seems pretty good otherwise. I presume the bar fridge was an option back in the day

I could see some issues with the side windows but what a pleasure on the hook. Not a blue water as overly used on the Internet but a pnw possibility. For under 30k seems coast wise.

this fall for me if it’s up north maybe earlier.
Looking at allied seawind 2 it just kinda became a possibility first and this is another one I’m interested in

I looked again and saw the whale cutouts for the drawer pulls etc. Adorable!
How can you resist!

At 36' she qualifies as a liveaboard in our marina too, though I am not sure how long it would take to get the liveaboard permit.

We got time lol if she’s that far south the admiral will switch my mainstay from Canadian to agave.

She'd be a great boat to explore south of here too! Just be sure to have a full boat cover to keep off that Sea of Cortez blazing heat!

Not really that long don . next spring I could bring her up in a couple weeks of easy harbor hopping . or 3 weeks offshore sailing the Vic Maui reverse route

That's true, in good weather it can be a fun harbor hopping trip, and one other plus that I just noticed is that it has a new engine. That's a plus for sure.

Re: Boats Less Than $30K Recent Noteworthy Finds

Here's a trip down memory lane for me. We knew the old owner years ago. Nice boat.

A 1983 Ticon 34 (aka Georgian 34) in Toronto, ON for $25K CAD, (US18.5K).
https://www.kijiji.ca/v-sailboat/cit...-34/1650657234

This is a fantastic boat for the price. Yes, tired canvas and exterior wood but this is an excellent lake and coastal cruiser. Huge interior, would make a great liveaboard.

The original wiring was poor (I spent a couple of hours in the anchor locker re-wiring the running lights) so I'm glad to read she was rewired afterwards. I would criticise the foredeck anchor handling space, lol.

(Make sure the centreboard is working.)

This looks interesting

https://sandiego.craigslist.org/nsd/...590582055.html

1984 34 ft Fantaisia Cutter riged blue water sail boat
Currently in drydock in San Carlos, Mexico.
30 hp Yanmar diesel engine.
Full keel, Cutter riged.
Teak interior.
Two complete sets of sails.
Lots of spare parts on board.
Thousands of dollars of extras included.
This is a coast guard documented vessel. Legal in every port.
Must see to appreciate.
