bending steering rod

Hello,

I am setting up a catamaran from the 80ies called 'Trak 18'. (Forumula 18 class, built by hobie cat engineers, similar to hobie 18 but much better in terms of shape.)

It has a bended steering rod unfortunately it broke and one broken part is missing. Does anybody can give me advise on how I can get the right measurements and the width for the bending?

That would be fantastic help!!!

thanks so much in advance,

Timo

The forums you need for beach cats are either

www.catsailor.com

or

www.thebeachcats.com

They're much more likely to have an answer.

The Trak isn't actually from the Hobie line of boats. If the original poster is talking about the crossbar connecting the tillers together, most of the Hobie crossbars are straight. I assume he's talking about that, since if it were actually the tiller that were broken he could use the other tiller to make a reverse copy.

This guy claims to have some Trac parts, maybe he can get you measurements.
