Re: Aluminum world cruiser with 4900 liters of fuel

Am I the only one who noticed the Clear-Vue is not in front of the helm? lol

From the name, it would appear to have originally been Japanese owned, so the big house and indoor helm make sense as someone said, motoring through snowstorms. The huge saloon suggests either big family or party boat, I'm guessing the former. Japanese people tend to be smaller than Europeans, so smaller and cramped (to us) berths probably don't bother them.

But the newer registration on the stern says Langkawi, so it may have ended up there as a liveaboard, perhaps the owner motored to Malaysia and stayed..?? This would explain the PVC pipe 'awning' above the cockpit, designed very much for hot climate and NOT sailing, which may also explain the huge fuel capacity.

With a LOT of refitting it might be made more conventional in its internal layout, but I suspect it would cost more than it's worth to do so.

Having said that, being ally, and having big fuel capacity, and an inside helm, might make a good 'starter' boat for someone wanting to do a N-W Passage or spend a lot of time in the PNW..??
