Crew Available: Eastern USA- Jan or Feb 2019

I'm not certain if this is the appropriate forum for this type of request but here it is ...
Canadian couple in mid to late 50's looking to crew on someone's boat (trawler or sailboat) for approximately one week (give or take a few days) in
January or February of 2019. Preferably someplace warm off the Eastern Coast of USA (anywhere from Carolina's to Bahama's).
Purpose of trip for us is to gain experience, knowledge and comfort levels as part of our preparations to ultimately convert to a live-aboard lifestyle during the next 3 to 5 years (upon retirement).
Of course we would cover our own travel expenses based on the journey's departure and arrival ports as well as cost sharing for provisions.
Hubby and I would both provide non-paid help with any of the general boat tasks, keeping watch, minor boat maintenance, cooking or cleaning chores, in exchange for comfortable, private sleeping accommodations and head.
We are both non-smoking, ex-military, dependable and trust worthy who enjoy a fairly quiet social life.
We are recent owners of a 26' Tanzer sailboat but other than taking it out on the St. Lawrence and Lake Ontario (from Kingston) a few times we have no experience with boats bigger than that. Our goal though, is to purchase a 36' to 50' boat in the next couple years and become Great Loopers, but we've not yet decided if that adventure will be aboard a sailboat or a trawler. This little crewing adventure would ultimately help us with our decision-making.
Depending on your location we can make ourselves available for short in-person or Skype type meetings and discussions (to get to know each other better) prior to any proposed departure dates.
