Greetings cruisers. Among recent changes to yacht clearance rules here it has come to my attention that there was no update of the
rule for length of time in country. The website mistakenly stated a vessel may stay for a maximum of six months in any twenty four month period. The legislation is actually eighteen months in any twenty four month period. This will allow yachts to do a season cruising here,
haul out for the cyclone season at the
new boat yard being developed in Luganville that has a sixty ton travel
lift and a
multihull haulout system. After
storage and
refit work they will be free to
cruise again for a further six months or get a jump on the
Indonesia Rally. For full, up to date details of new regs in place here see
Yacht Clearance
It is important to note
Customs are vigorously enforcing check in procedures but have interpreted rules to make visiting another port after final clearance a lot easier.
