Any members located in Catalonia [Spain], Occitanie, Provence-Alpes Cote D'Azure [France]?

Best wishes and safe travels.

Re: Location of Members

Does it count if we've sailed there? (Hyères, St. Jean de Luz, Arcachon, Royan...)

Re: Location of Members

Used to live for part of the year in Banyuls sur Mer, though small boat stayed in Lymington UK. The small harbour good; Oceanological Observatory https://www.obs-banyuls.fr/en/oob.html ; other good harbours moving North Eastwards - Port Vendre etc

I don't see why not. Do you still sail there?

Or do you plan too?

Best wishes

As is your response.

Would it be more acceptable for me to edit "my Title" to read;
"Location of Members in Catalonia, [Spain] and or French Mediterranean Regions" ?

Thanks for your help.

Best wishes

Re: Location of Members

We sailed transatlantic one summer for an Irish/Scottish/English/French circuit and put in at Royan for ice to keep the icebox cold. Cruised down to Arcachon, where the aft lower shroud broke just before we entered the channel. Spent a lovely afternoon with a quickly diminishing basket full of oysters in the cockpit. Finding a replacement shroud in mm was interesting. Got off the boat in St. Jean de Luz - one of the dirtiest harbors we saw on the trip. Spent a week at the Préolympic d'Hyères with a dinghy-sailing friend from Caen - quite an event! Earlier, sailing class in Vauriens off the beach at Granville (Mt. Saint-Michel in the distance) and an outing from Concarneau gave me exposure to more of what the French coasts can offer.

Wonderful adventure, many thanks for sharing it.
Perhaps others would be interested in how you overcame the "to mm" issue/problem?

Where are you now?

Best wishes

Re: Location of Members

Hallo Rver
We are in Lymington UK, and as, we hope, travel restrictions improve, we have the English Channel.
What boat are you sailing, and have you any plans?
John

Managed to get shackles and clevis pins to work around the differences in the end fittings. Shifting a slight bit heavier didn't hurt either. The fix lasted to get the boat back across to Tortola, where I boarded again for the the trip to Bermuda and back to our base in Connecticut.
Have been sailing U.S. east coast since, with some Newport-Bermuda and Chicago-Mackinac races mixed in. Hoping to get back to France in April. Got a new-to-us Sabre 402 last summer after sailing a J/36 for 24 years. New sails for Christmas...will have to see where that leads.

Spent three years with the yacht and a mobo in Baie des Anges near Nice . I love that coast.
