Wow! Wally’s are in a class to themselves and I guess really redefine the term ‘big boys’ toys’. Canting keels? I suppose there’s a very well sound-insulated generator running 24/7 to provide the power for the hydraulics and electrics? Did spot some others on the boat in the far shots, but still very cool. Bummer about the heeling though - what happens to one’s champagne glass when one wants to re-apply sunscreen?

I think you could lash out for a champagne glass gimbal.

Maybe even go for the chilled one

Re: Italian Style

Geez, for a sailing forum, one would think there’d be a little more interest in cutting edge tech and style.

Dunno ken, a lot of us are more interested in boats that we could conceivably own or sail ourselves. Rich men's toys are of little interest to me, especially when the word "style" is part of the blurb.

YMMV

Beautiful boat. Ever wonder why revolutions begin between the masses and the shamelessly wealthy? His headsail is worth more than my entire boat.

Did it ever occure to you that the guy steering the boat worked very hard for many years to earn the money to purchase the boat? There’s also a good chance he owns a medium size company which employs many people, providing income to support hundreds of families. Also, you’re forgetting about another hundred or so people who were employed to build his boat, along with many unseen people who manufactured the products and materials that went into the boat.

Re: Italian Style

Sigh. It's just as possible he made money through passing down wealth made centuries ago by selling those slaves that survived the passage into servitude, and which was invested in various shady places continuing to make the do-nothing relatives rich. Or that he made the money through excellent bribes in the Russian political establishment (or American, or name your country!) to get a monopoly and sold the mineral wealth while paying no taxes or keeping superannuation/redundancy for workers or holding back any for making good the mine's state when it's finished.

And your point is? I'll show you all my evidence if you show me yours for "There’s also a good chance he owns a medium size company which employs many people". I'm very happy to grant you a "chance", but you have to grant me that my chances are just as likely...

Man, I didn't know sailing was getting this political. Lol Just because I can't afford a Ferrari doesn't mean I can't admire them from afar and I certainly wouldn't begrudge anybody who owned one.

blah
blah
You DO realize there exists a place that mints 1700 new millionaires every day, of which 83% are self-made? Self. Made.
Slaves.
Really?
Good heavens.
This is 2018.

Regarding the boat- I'd love to sail it for a day but I wouldn't have daydreams of cruising on it. Something that gets me into me into the middle of a shallow atoll (and across oceans) is what I dream of.
Thanks for posting, though! Cool to watch.

Can't for the life of me figure out who it is. My guess is whoever produced the video hired a composer.

First time ever Shazam hasn't recognized something but I found it in the YouTube comments. It's cinematic "stock music": https://audiojungle.net/item/epic-cinematic/19527073

Thank you. I was also very surprised that Shazam didn't recognize the music.

The short music piece costs $20, but like most things, you gotta pay more to get quality. Awesome recording.
