    Hi,
sorry to drop you this message but I m considering purchasing a Outremer 50 but an older model (1995).
Not sure how old your is, but was wondering if you can share any tips especially about older models, how they built and things to look for.
    Thanks

    Hello Foxy Kitty,

I saw a pic you posted about soft hanks and see you have a furler with what looks like textile forestay, is it dyneema or did you use an anti torsion line? Are you using the Ubi Maori Jiber by chance? If so, how do you like it?

I just re-rigged my 38' cat with dyneema but left the wire forestay for a planned eventual furler upgrade...
I would love to use soft hanks so I don't have to modify all my sails with luff tape, also so I can more easily switch and use the right jib for the conditions and save weight aloft...

I just discovered the Jiber via internet searching but don't know anyone who has one or seen one in person.

    Hey Foxy Kitty

Thanks for the comment about my story and Tropic Bird. May I ask who is your insurer? I really like the idea of an insurance company that requires re-rigging every ten years. That's my requirement too.

Also hard to find insurers who understand multihulls. Any info appreciated,

    With Warm Aloha, Tim

    Dear Foxy Kitty,
Very interested and keen about crewing on the trip from Fiji back to NZ.

I've done quite a few overseas trips, (including the one you're planning), plus much NZ coastal sailing. Sailed a boat up to Tonga this past May.

I'm a NZ citizen, based in Wellington, good health, non smoker and keen sailor.
Have a sailing CV available if you wish (would have included but no way of attaching a document with this system).

Happy to attend to all duties, and can cook underway; have own gear obviously.

    Sincerely,
    Grant McNamara
