Inflatable Paddle Boards

Hi crew, long time lurker, first time poster. We're hoping to move to our boat full time later this year and wanted some feedback on paddle boards. We have some hard boards at home, but will go for inflatables on the boat.

We've narrowed our search to the 11' Compact by Red Paddle. Anyone with experience on these or Red boards in general, or have any other suggestions? Red look top notch and pack down pretty small.

I've used one which a friend bought. I was thoroughly impressed with the performance. I'd definitely buy an inflatable. Sorry, I forget the brand.

The only down side is that inflating it is work! We had to take turns on the manual pump. Well worth it though, that board was great to bring along on a 2-week cruise with friends.

Never heard of that brand, ive used an aero and rackham from bote, and both were very high quality.
Plan to buy one later this year.

Welcome aboard core! I have not seen that particular brand either but I sure endorse the idea of a good inflatable paddleboard. My daughter has one (can't recall the brand) and it has been a great addition.

We bought the RED Windsurf model https://redpaddleco.com/en-nz/product/107-windsurf/ about 4 years ago and sold it last year. We used the larger 4.5m rig (I’m 95 kg). Awesome fun and good quality kit.

You can use it as a regular paddle board or with the daggerboard and a sail. I also used an inflatable wing with it - very stable but no fouling of course. It can plane with enough wind, but mostly you’re displacement sailing.

We usually kept it inflated while cruising and put it inside a UV cover (any long board cover will work). It deflates into a not so small package that could fit a decent sized cockpit locker.

If you’re looking for performance windsurfing or SUP paddling then there are more performant models in the RED line for paddling and Starboard for windsurfing.

Definitely recommended.

I have another video where I add a trolling motor to it. You could do the same to just about any SUP I think. We really appreciate it on longer trips, not having to paddle the whole time is nice !

They are also available at GreenWater Sports, and they are only $799. Ours has been a blast and has had no problems so far. It's seems pretty well made, much like all the others out there.

We bought a iRocker and were pleasantly surprised by how good the inflatables ones are that use drop-stitch.
