You can't buy a Canadian registered boat as a US Citizen (in Canada or in the US). It is against the law to sell a foreign boat in the US (Canadian or otherwise).

There are ways around this but trying to do it yourself without the knowledge of both US and Canadian systems could buy you a world of financial hurt.

There are some yacht brokers who do this routinely ... Hire one.
