73 Pearson 30 $2.5k atomic 4
https://chicago.craigslist.org/nch/b...915393044.html
Looks pretty nice. Doubt it’s going to last.
If it starts, runs, and drives, it’s a hot deal. Economics of sailing in Chicago has led to some pretty nice boats coming up for sale at the cost of storage. I know nothing is free and yada yada, but this is a pretty sweet looking deal.

Re: FREE, or close to free!

C&C24, $1000, Kingston Ontario Canada (Lake Ontario).

Good looking C&C. Owner says its ready to launch, needs cleanup. Minor damage to toe rail can be seen if you zoom into the image on the ad site. This is a well made and fast boat with lots of space below (for a 24). The boat is on a (good) cradle on a marine hauling trailer parked outside of Marine Outfitters Canada on Bath Road, Kingston. I had a look at it today, and the hull looks pretty good. The rigging seems to be all there as well. You could likely launch at nearby Collins Bay Marina, and with one or two days rigging and cleaning be ready to sail.

https://www.kijiji.ca/v-view-details...earch%20Alerts

From the ad:

Make me an offer, first $1000 takes it! Package includes all rigging to sail the boat, 8 HP Mariner outboard motor, cushions, dodger, sails, 4 winches and much more.

No but it could be a good first boat for you.

Check these pictures and maybe give the guy a call. He built that wooden dodger but if you think it is too tall, you can remove it. It has a well for an outboard also.

http://www.cruisersforum.com/forums/...at-220513.html

The question is why has he decided to sell? His wife was thinking of making a dodger/ bimini but he decided to build the hard one

He's about my age and seem to be a nice guy and very capable. His topside paint job on this boat was tons better than when I did mine.

Btw I posted this boat on this thread months before he bought it and made it look this good. It was in the water when I saw it and sitting right. No listing etc

1.83 capsize ratio.

Sheesh. New engine and all that other stuff? Seems too good to be true.
for reference: Sea Sprite 28 (27), by C.E. Ryder | S.S. Saba | Sailboat Restoration | For Sale
I'd sure check it out.

Re: FREE, or close to free!

This looks like a crazy good deal! I'd love to hear a little more detail. Can't be a new motor at that price but if it's decent & it runs that's good enough. And to top it off it's a good looking boat. Wow!

Re: FREE, or close to free!

CS27 for free. This is what usually happens when someone starts working on a project boat. Half done, thousands invested, free to good home.

Re: FREE, or close to free!

Bluejacket 23 MS motorsailer $5k w/ doghouse.

I like the look and layout and reputation of the Great Dane better but this is a nice little cruiser that will be sure to sell soon. Good looking headroom, it could be just the thing for someone who wants to be able to go all the way inside on a rainy day. Sailboat data website claims less than 10 were built? https://sailboatdata.com/sailboat/bluejacket-23-ms some interesting pix on the website; cl boat looks to be the same model.

Anyways, I could see how this could fill a niche.
