The answer will vary. Where is the boat now, where is it being moved too, is it registered and if so where?

Went thru this process 10-12 years ago. USCG needed to see every change of ownership (dates, names, addresses) from the last documented owner to the current owner. Sometimes it felt to me it was better to start over

I believe it's $82-$84. I haven't filed mine yet; the broker said I could take my time since my boat's on the hard.

USCG National Vessel Documentation Center, Forms Page

EDIT: Then you have to deal with whatever your local/state registration requirements. In FL, I don't have to register the boat until it hits the water.

The boat stays in new york for the winter months, then move down to Jersey shore rest of year.

Just did mine in December. Total was $92: $8 to file/record the bill of sale and $84 for the "Exchange Certificate of Documentation".
