Re: Cruiser Dating?

It also helps to be in your 40's when trying to sail/cruise and date.

Photo from 1999/2000 on a break from work.

Lots of ugly has occurred since then.

Jeep GC is a 1998.

Yeah they last and last.

I've had a 1991, 1996, 2002, 2004 (2), 2007, 2010.

Four of them had the 4 liter 6 cylinder engine with mileage at time of sale as follows:

1991: 335,000 (I gave it to my 16 year old son when he was 16 in 1998 with 170,000 and he drove the crap out of it until 2005. I did all the maintenance. Brakes, rotors, water pumps, etc

1996: (the one pictured) 186,000 sold to a 16 year old girl. Her first car so I hope it lasted a long time for her.

2002: I still have. It was my son's but had problems so I took it and gave him another one. It has 252,000 on it now and still running fine.

2004: My son wrecked that one at about 189,000. The other '04 was the 4.7 V8.

2007. still have but it's 8 cylinder./4.7 liter 169,000

2010. Bought and gave to ex-wife. It has the newer V6 cylinder 3.6 liter I believe it is.

Lovely model. Was extremely well balanced in the snow. Hated the model after it ( all curves and less seating room ) gave up on GC and ended up with a series of range rovers or range rover sports.

I agree that GC was tough and reliable but then the engine was largely idling !!!
