Creekmore boats

I've got a 1962 Creekmore 36 and would like to make contact with other Creekmore owners. I'm in Gulfport, Ms and at one time there were 3 Creekmores in the harbor, A 30' and a 42'. They've all gone now and I've got the only one left.
Ray Creekmore built them in Miami and his son Lee now lives outside Mobile, Al.

We own the first Creekmore 36 CB built by Ray Creekmore in 1957. See my post in Sept. 2011 describing it. Fantastic boat. Moored in Stonington, CT since 1971. Owned her since 1969. This boat has varnished mahogany cabin trunk and coamings, hatches. Changed from masthead to 7/8 rig with new mast in 1978. Still has original Daimler Benz diesel which runs like a top.

That's terrific. A family friend bought this one new in 1962 and my wife and I got it in 1989. We covered most of the interior bulkheads in white formica, installed new, larger bronze port lights and larger hatches. We've added a diesel generator, a/c, chart plotter, roller furling and just got a new suit of North sails with mast slides and a lazy jack system, mainsail cover and bimini. Just installed a new 3 blade prop and am about to add a Maxwell windlass. Still have the Perkins diesel and it runs like a top.
We're on the Mississippi Gulf coast and have sailed up and down the West coast of Florida. We're about to retire and do some Bahama cruising. Send me an email address and I'll send you a picture. I'd love to see yours.

Sounds like you're happy with your Creekmore. Clearly we are too since we have had her for 45 years! They are really great sailing boats, extremely strongly built. Our systems are still basic, with just modern depth, speed, TacTic wind instruments, GPS and an anchor roller and windlass added. As I mentioned, the change to a 7/8 rig from masthead was a good change. Ray had originally built a fiberglass mast and boom for this boat. They were heavy and flexible to the point of being scary in a breeze. She was, though, sailed in the Bahamas and north down the Maine coast with that rig, but I was quite nervous in a near gale off the Maine coast one night in 1971. We've just cruised New England since then but she's so easy to sail we can day sail often and cruise two weeks at a time.

Just found this thread. I have a Creekmore 45 (really 46 by the paperwork) and love it. Have sailed from Maine to Venezuela. This one was finished out in the Bristol boatyard and looks like an Uber Bristol 32. Great boat. BeesKnees

I actually have a pen & ink drawing of a nude done by Ray. When he sold my boat to the original owner in 1962, he presented the drawing with it. When I bought the boat 15 years ago, I inherited the drawing.
I like to describe the Scorpio as bulletproof and a sweet sailing boat.

We owned Magic, a Creekmore 36, which was supposedly built in 1960. It had a documentation number of 509638. We purchased Magic from a boat yard in Jacksonville in 2007 and brought her to Lake Lanier outside Atlanta. We really work to bring Magic back to life in that she had been on the hard for many years. We sold her to a guy from FL in the spring of 2011. It would be great to keep up with her location and sailing life.
