Challenge-7 kts, less than $1K/ft

Goal:
To find hull conducive to sail:

Criteria:
Auxiliary sail (although engine-less is considered)
Capable of 7 kt avg on passage
Well founded for oceanic passage making
'Liveability' for at least one soul
Purchase price at or less than $1,000 per foot as measured at waterline.

Challenge is not constrained by age, type material in construction, or condition. However, 'not a total write-off', ie, able to float is desirable. As for 'liveability', anything from 'find comfortable position below decks' to pipe berths to well appointed is a go.

SOG is most important criteria.

Re: Challenge-7 kts, less than $1K/ft

You want a boat that averages 170 mile days. Is this on a Pacific tradewind run or going up and down the US East Coast or ?
To truly average that consistently over large geographic area you'd need a 45ft plus decent performing design with decent sails and a good crew.

Or a medium light weight performance boat like a J/37 or a J/40. Still gonna cost more than a grand a foot by the time it is refit.
