Buying a sailboat in mexico and sail the pacific

Hey mates,
Im planing in six months to finish work in Australia, and save money to buy a sailboat in Mexico, Baja California, and plan to sail towards the south pacific.

Is it possible to do so?

Couse i know the major of the boats are 127 AC over there.
Is it better to look for a 220 electric system?
Or just to connect an adapter or two to make it possible to dock the boat sometimes.

And i plan to be self efficient anyway, with solar and watermaker systems...

Jackie no reason why you can't. Clients of mine purchased an Irwin 38 for $5000 in Florida and sailed her home to Australia.
I would forget trying to find a 220 volt wired boat in North America and just use a transformer.
What sort of budget are you thinking for the adventure?
Cheers

Thank you for the quick apply!!!! Im thinking of something between 20-50 grand.
And a solid fiberglass sailboat about 33-35 feet.
