Sorry, I don’t know. Some latching relays can require a specific pulse to change states and the Sterling model (and some of the BlueSeas models) are not just latching relays, but have some electronics that can be programmed to automatically switch if certain parameters are met. In addition, latching relays can require a relatively high switching current (for a short time) when changing states. As well, some large relays generate considerable back EMF that can easy damage electronic components if not suppressed, especially over the long term.

These problems can usually be overcome, but electronically controlling a large relay is not straightforward, especially if long term reliability is needed. I would check with the manufacturers.

Re: Lithium Upgrade Design - Input Required

What I was worried about with a latching relay if power was lost to the BMS (blown fuse or open circuit) what gives the pulse to the latching relay to change state & isolate the LiFePo4 batt. in HV or LV or cell diff. voltage event?
The Latching relay advised to me was a GIGAVAC GXL14 350Amp +.

You could look at Perfect Switch offerings which have versions designed for LFP with various specific tasks. They are quite flexible, but tend to be expensive. It is a good website.

Thanks - I was also looking at the Kilovac, But Gigavac do a GX16 (600A) which I can easily get in Australia.

At some point, I would greatly appreciate a more detailed of the dual bus bar for charges/loads. I understand the overall concept but as always the devil is in the details.
Thank you in advance

Here are two photos of my dual DC bus panel.
The first is just a photo, the second image has annotation. Let me know if you would like more details.

Re: Lithium Upgrade Design - Input Required

Thank you!!!!
It makes so much sense. Since I'm in process of redesigning my electrical layout. I think I will go by your design.

I appreciate you getting back to me
Cheers
