I've sold a few of these. Hard to find and one of Bob Perry's finest designs that you don't see come up too often. A great design!

Why are boats like this so inexpensive these days? Rich people prefer motor?

Teak decks are one reason. My first sailing adventure was on one with a Peugeot diesel. Regardless it left me wanting something like it. That didn't happen but it's a fond memory.

They’re old fashioned from accomodation and comfort points of view - no sugar scoop for easy access to the water, small cockpit without much space for entertaining, small and dark interior relative to length over all. These are the kinds of attributes that boat shows, brokers, and YouTube have taught us are important.

I’m not saying anything about the sea kindliness of this and similar designs, as for many buyers these days that doesn’t matter very much.

Times and fashions change. Makes older boats a great deal, especially if you prefer the older attributes.

Tevai is one of the few Lafitte 44's built without teak decks. The Decks a freshly painted non-skid alwgrip .

A great sea boat. Sailed ours since 1989; previous owner circumnavigated.
Easily set up to single hand. Definitely never confused with a condominium ish marina queen. However you seldom go to a harbor that someone doesn't dink by to ask about the boat.
Very comfortable for a couple live aboard with the occasional guest.
Very strong hull with divinicell core.

I thought there was plenty of room up fwd. I even had my own head. I do remember going aft one morning and hearing your wife scream because she was probably bare and thought I saw her. I didn't.
