Draft on new Leopard 45
Drafts of similar cats -

Sort of a big jump. Maybe they're trying for a cursing cat with respectable performance upwind?

5' 1" Draft on new Leopard 45
This is one of the reason we purchased a FP Helia 44 with 3' 10"
draft
.
We can get into really nice skinny
water
while all the deeper
keel
draft
boats
fight for spots in deeper
water
.
Our
Catalina
380 mono was 5' 6" with a lead wing
keel
.
Shallow draft
is one of the main reasons for most cruisers to buy a
Catamaran
.

Re: Draft on new Leopard 45
Anything over a metre is unnecessary and speaks to huge volume, draggy hulls. I know of Monos with less draft than that. I despair.

Re: Draft on new Leopard 45
Not to mention more potential for tripping on breaking waves. They should have used retractable boards.

Unless it speaks of narrow, low volume hulls below the waterline which submerge further for the same all up weight.
